About GIFTS FOR GOOD
Founded in: 2017
Gifts for Good was founded in 2017 to reinvent the $90 billion corporate gifting industry as the first source for business gifts with a social impact. Born out of the Social Entrepreneurship Lab at USC’s Marshall School of Business, Gifts for Good started as a class project— but soon turned into a full-fledged business. They believe in using business as a force for good. As a marketplace for businesses, they sell life-changing products made by over 40 nonprofits and social enterprises to support a variety of social, economic, and environmental causes. Many of their gifts are handmade in Los Angeles, employing those transitioning from homelessness, employing those with developmental disabilities, or supporting our local veterans. Their platform helps companies send more meaningful gifts, while providing the B2B marketing team these cause-based organizations need to better sustain themselves and grow their reach and impact.
Gifts for Good’s team hand-selects each item for our marketplace and measures the social impact of the product. Their fulfillment center is operated by Goodwill Southern California in downtown LA— transforming lives through the power of work.
The Gifts for Good team has found Los Angeles to be a great place to start a business. It’s a creative city where new ideas are born and has the infrastructure needed to actually manufacture products. LA itself also has an addressable market for business gifting. Whether it’s real estate, Silicon Beach tech businesses, or the entertainment industry they are able to work with a variety of companies across industries to offer unique and meaningful options for corporate gifting. These things together have made LA the perfect place for a startup like Gifts for Good, particularly one in the social impact space – people in LA truly care about making the world a better place!
They are excited to collaborate with LA Original on this collection of specialty gifts that empower local LA-based businesses to create jobs for people in-need in our community through their employee and client gifting; all the while spotlighting ‘do-good’ entrepreneurial programs from across Los Angeles.
