Rosairus is a collection of hand-painted accessories thoughtfully made in Los Angeles by Camilla Behrens. Founded in 2013, Rosairus combines Camilla’s love for painting and creating physical objects. Inspired by abstract art and organic elements, the hand-painted patterns are graphic and textural. Camilla’s minimal design sensibility, use of graphic prints and neutral/tonal color palettes reflect her Danish roots.
Creating thoughtfully made products is at the core of Rosairus. The bags are hand-painted using non-toxic water-based dyes and is made of natural long-lasting materials including merino wool, linen and the natural leather alternate Piñatex, made of pineapple leaf fibers. Bags are painted and sewn in small batches in Camilla’s studio, and trim is made locally. Even as the brand grows, Camilla is excited to continue to produce her products in Los Angeles as it allows her to be closely involved in the manufacturing process and it supports the local economy.
Camilla is a Danish native, but has called Los Angeles home for over 10 years. She thinks that Los Angeles is such an inspiring city to be a part of and finds it a very exciting place to be a designer and creative. She is constantly inspired by the energy and lifestyle of LA, and loves to be exposed to other artists and their incredible work.
